A fairly quiet day by Bayside standards with numbers down in most classes but noteably so in Nitro. Sure some of our young guns are off getting ready for the worlds but even so numbers did seem unexplainably low.
Anyway we had the quality.
Action R/C team driver Adrian’s new Kyosho was the highlight – won all 3 qualifers – no doubt aided by his new Action R/C supplied EA CO27 motor. Changed motors for the final to an older one and unfortunately had it die on him – so very nearly a fairy tale debut.
I was enjoying being back in a Schumacher EC again after a brief flirtation with an Academy car. The EC is certainly a nice car to build and drive – hope I’ll be able to do it justice within a couple of weeks of shakedown. Jason Dorn was handed the transmitter for my R12 in the reverse direction Nitro race – raced onto the drivers stand with a second to spare, never driven the car before, never used my transmitter before and hit the front on the first lap and was untroubled to lap the field – that’s obviously a lot of talent – and obviously a great car. By the way an R12 just won the BRCA Open Nitro Rubber Titles for the second year in succession, obviously not just a pretty face.
