This weekend see the running of the Winter Champs at Brendale. The fact that Brendale is hosting the Electric Nationals and the 200mm Nitro Worlds later this year has given extra interest to their regular Winter Champs meeting. At least in the case of electric there are several Interstate drivers making their way up to compete there on Saturday.
For me Friday practice will be a time to decide if I am going to run the regular and competitive Mi2EC or the new and unproven Academy STR4-Pro11. I will run them both at the practice on Friday and then make a decision. Part of the decision revolves around the availability of spare parts, I have plenty for the Schuie but haven’t stocked up on Academy parts as yet.
The modified finals on Saturday should be the races to watch with Cooke and Abbott mixing it with Brisbane’s best – I wouldn’t want to have to pick a winner out of that lot. The stock finals should also be very good with the very competitive Casino guys coming up to mix it with Damian, Jason and co., pity Adrian Beggs is too sick to make it this week, get better for the Logan Winter Cup Adrian. 
So that’s my week – Brendale Friday and Saturday and then try to get to Logan sometime Sunday although very late – might be in time to watch the finals.
