Stories from the world of RC car racing

Looks like another big week looming for us at Action R/C.
Wednesday I will be over at Hobby Station about 11am preparing the track for our Wednesday night racemeet. We are going to blow the track off and vacum the collection of dust and garbage etc then run a car around to see if we need bother with the sugar water we have been using lately. Hopefully sooner or later the track will be good with just the clean. The meet starts at 7pm sharp and we generally have 4 rounds and finish before 10.30, if you are coming bring some charged packs as there isn’t a lot of time between rounds. At this stage classes are Mini / 540, Stock and Mod. My new (secondhand Mini might debut this week).
Sunday will be the regular race meet at Bayside. This is a great track and a very well run racemeet. I’ll be there running stock and possibily Scott will be there as well running Mod. I will try to have the gas car ready for a shake down in the lunch hour as well. If you haven’t raced at Bayside yet, do yourself a favour – bring some rubbers. Great steakburgers on sale for lunch.
Gas car – what gas car! I have done a deal with Stewart Pearson and I have his Schumacher R12 to run at selected events. It’s not my plan to run it too often mainly those events that are two day events where one can run a different car both days – like for example the Logan Winter Cup or Tamworth (although you might see me unable to resist Logan club meets ocassionally as they are getting a great entry in Gas Tourers these days). I have a OS CVRX which at 1hp fits nicely in the Gas Tourer class around SE Qld and will get me into the pull start class at Tamworth – just needs running in and a tune and I’ll be out there creating havoc as usual.
This week we have all our motors (Surge Tuned Monsters and Factory Tuned CO27’s, and some 19t) on sale for $60 until Sunday or until we sell em all – don’t miss this. We also have some great battery packs in the box at the moment as well. A new Schumacher parts shipment due this week as well.
Hope you all have a great week like I am planning too.
cheers, Heavy

Sadly looks like I won’t be making it down to Bayside on Sunday. Too much study to do, and not enough hours in the day. I hope to get there again soon. Hope its a good day!
