There is no doubt that the new management at Logan have got the Onroad side of things fairly humming now, after a slow start to the year.
The race meet on 13th May had a great atmosphere and feel to it as well as good numbers (40 ?) and good racing.
I’ll be able to share a little of what happened but the full results will be up on the clubs website in due course.
Nitro Open Tourers.
Not a big field but quite strong nevertheless. I guess the class of the field was Mick Sherman – his car was fast (as usual) and looked invinceable in the first heat with only Alan showing signs of keeping up. As usual, Steve Drummond took out the “Biggest Grin” award – man is that guy enjoying driving his Nitro (G4) at teh moment.
Firstly Mick then John Perkins then Scott Guyatt all had goes at driving the Mugen but I think Mick ended up with teh quickest time – the car expired before the final in protest.
Gas Tourers.
Sorry guys I have no idea what happened here.
Modified.
Some great racing with the lead being battled over between Scott Guyatt, Mick Sherman, John Perkins and Rex Creed. Scott (Schumacher EC) ended up with TQ and the win in the final from John and Mick.
“Biggest Grin” award goes to the Jolly Shark, he was having a great time with his new brushless, and doing a few reasonable laps.
Stock.
What a strong field and great racing. In one heat I had a race long duel with Kenny and Dave that was memorable of a World Title – and we were only battling for 3rd. Great stuff and we couldn’t hold back the grins at teh end of it – this is what club racing should be about.
I think John Perkins TQ’d from Damian and Uncle Johny, followed by a few other noteables like Kenny, Barger, mysefl Brad and Dave. The final was also a great race – not for the win – that was JP but for second which was duked over by Damian and Uncle John with Damian squeaking through right at the end to take it out. I played with ratios in a CO27 all night wanting to know some things before Tamwoth – ended up in the 35mm rollout area which was one pinion too high I reckon.
Rollon more racing like that – unfortunately I am going to miss the next two Logan meets as I will be out of town – probably make the practice nights though. I reckon I will be a threat in stock when I get a bit older and a few more years experience.
