At their meeting last week ORRCA Qld responded to the current situation and updated their battery rules to include the new and popular 4200 and 4300 cells which are now commercially available. This means the cells can be used in ORRCA Qld events but not yet in AARCMCC events (eg Tamworth ). It is expected that AARCMCC will follow suit and legalise the cells from 1st July.
This does not mean an increase in cost as these cells are around the same price as 3800 cells and still a lot cheaper than we were all paying a year or two ago. I love using them for practice as well because you can be out there for ages.
We’ll have the matched Eastpower version of the 4200 cells at prices that you will find attractive. We will also have access to the new GP4300 for those of you who favour GP.
In a late development ORRCA Qld are now saying that there is a three month cooling off period on that rule change but I am not sure where they are finding that rule so we will have to wait clarification.
